Privacy policy

Effective August 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR.

1. Who is responsible

The controller of your data is Abigail Jankowitz, trading as Alignment Coaching, Zumikon, canton Zürich, Switzerland. For any privacy question or request, email abigail@alignmentcoach.online.

2. What we collect

• When you enquire or book: your name, email, phone if you give it, and what you tell us in your message.
• If you take the quiz: your answers and your email if you choose to share it.
• During coaching: session notes and the information you share, which for ADHD coaching may include health related details.
• For payment: the information needed to invoice you. Card or bank processing is handled by our payment provider, not stored by us.
• Automatically: basic technical data your browser sends, and analytics if enabled (see cookies below).

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

• To answer enquiries and arrange sessions (to take steps at your request and to perform our agreement).
• To deliver coaching and keep session records (performance of our agreement).
• To invoice you and keep tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
• To send you occasional updates, only if you opt in (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).

Health related details, including anything about ADHD, are handled with extra care and only used to deliver your coaching. Where the law requires it, we rely on your explicit consent, which you give by choosing to share this with us.

4. Children

Where we coach someone under 18, a parent or guardian provides and consents to their information. We collect only what we need to support the young person and handle it with the same care as above.

5. Who else is involved

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the business, and share only what each needs:

• Website hosting: Hostinger.
• Contact and booking forms: Formspree.
• Email: Hostinger (email hosted with our domain provider).
• Payments: UBS Switzerland AG (Swiss bank transfer).

Some of these providers are based outside Switzerland, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred abroad, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your data.

6. How long we keep it

We keep coaching records only as long as needed for our work together and a reasonable period afterwards. Invoicing and accounting records are kept for 10 years as Swiss law requires. Enquiry messages are kept until they are no longer needed.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy, or withdraw consent you have given. To exercise any of these, email abigail@alignmentcoach.online. You also have the right to complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or your local authority if you are in the EU.

8. Cookies and analytics

This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive standard technical data such as your IP address when a page loads. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings.

9. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the current version here with its effective date.
